Professional Experience

Michael Chui leads The Special Assets Group at Rosano Partners. He specializes in the successful disposition of commercial properties and multifamily apartments, both finished and partially-constructed projects. Michael listed and helped close over $100 million in multifamily, retail and office transactions before being promoted to head The Special Assets Group at Rosano Partners.

Michael has transactional experience and market expertise throughout Los Angeles County, San Fernando Valley, Kern County, and in Riverside County in Southern California. Michael and The Special Assets Group also service clients in Northern California from the company's downtown Palo Alto office. Michael and his team of Bay Area agents are specialized and experienced in handling commercial real estate and multifamily transactions in San Francisco, San Mateo County, San Jose, and the East Bay. The team's experience is not limited to California, as they have also closed commercial and multifamily transactions in the Pacific Northwest, New York, Las Vegas, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Michigan and Missouri.

Michael's professional philosophy is to maximize for his clients the best potential price in the shortest possible time. Michael is a Juris Doctor, and his expertise is in providing legal protection for his clients while negotiating the best possible terms on each transaction. At Rosano Partners, Michael is committed to setting a new industry standard for providing exceptional service and expertise in commercial real estate brokerage.

Prior to joining Rosano Partners, Michael was the Director of Real Estate Acquisitions at West Coast Investors. As Director, Michael's responsibilities were managing the marketing and negotiations of commercial and multifamily listings, and serving as lead negotiator on all acquisition deal points. Michael has also worked as a Senior Business Development Associate at Manatus Real Estate Group, where he analyzed real estate legal issues, helped negotiate deal points on development agreements, and revised contracts on commercial retail and mixed-use development projects.

Before entering law school, Michael enjoyed a successful career representing high net-worth clientele as a Relationship Manager at Bank of America's private wealth management group. He managed the financial portfolios of over 150 affluent clients, and won multiple awards for his excellent client representation. Michael also has worked as an investment banker at Jefferies & Co's Mergers and Acquisitions Group, where he successfully helped complete nine merger transactions worth a combined consideration of over $2 billion.

Credentials

Michael is a graduate of University of California Berkeley, where he earned degrees in business administration from the Haas School of Business and in political economy, graduating with honors. He earned a Juris Doctor degree with a real estate emphasis from Brooklyn Law School, and completed his studies while working in commercial real estate. He enjoys volunteering in the nonprofit community, and has served as a multiple-term board member and fundraising chair for the Chinatown YMCA. Michael speaks English and Cantonese, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in California.
